SCOTT GRAFTON

BUILDING MANAGER

With over seven years in residential facilities and operations, plus an NZCE in Mechanical Engineering, I bring a practical, technically grounded approach to my role as Building Manager.

Most recently, I had been a live-in building manager for a large residential complex in Auckland,  looking after maintenance, service contracts, contractor coordination, compliance and committee reporting across residential buildings. I've delivered significant capital works projects, sequencing the work so residents stayed comfortable and operations kept running.

For me, building management is as much about planning ahead as it is about responding well when something goes wrong. My engineering background means I can read building systems, assess asset condition, and put together long-term maintenance plans that protect a building's value. Combined with steady contractor relationships and clear, regular communication with committees and residents, it's how I keep things on track.

Before facilities, I spent over 20 years in event management and project coordination, working with everyone from international artists to community festivals. That background taught me how to manage logistics, stakeholders and tight timelines without losing the plot, all of which carries straight across into the day-to-day of building management.

Outside of Work

I'm a keen traveller, having recently taken a year out to explore and reset. Closer to home you'll find me snowboarding in winter, diving when I can, or behind a camera. I've got a soft spot for live music too, a hangover from my years working with NZ artists touring through Europe and Asia.
